A 7 days intensive photo tour designed to let you shoot varied collection of life, cultural, and architecture photos in Northern region of Thailand (Chiang Mai – Mae Hong Son). In addition, Pattaya Boot Camp (Thailand’s traditional and cultural Photo Boot Camp) is included to let you discover more and more interesting and attractive scenes. 

Day 1

07.30am Arriving at Chiang Mai Airport (CNX)

08.00am Breakfast

09.30am Getting around Chiang Mai Down Town by private famous local red trucks. Stop by local famous temples and enjoy shooting life and cultural architecture.

12.00am Lunch

13.00am Continue shooting life and cultural architecture at some long-historical temples with Thai Northern style in Chiang Mai

16.00am Late afternoon or evening set-up scenes in a local temple or historical place.

20.00am Dinner with Lanna (Northern part of Thailand) eating style

21.00am Back to the hotel

 

Day 2

11.00    Getting ready at “The Imperial Tara Mae Hong Son Hotel”

12.00    Lunch and Orientation. Getting briefed about the overall trip.

13.30    Tram ride around the town, sight-seeing and photo shooting

18.00    Photographing releasing of sky lanterns at Wat Jong Kam and Wat Jong Klang

20.00    Dinner

21.00    Back to the hotel

Day 3

04.30    Leaving for Pang Ung. Photographing a picturesque village and lake covered by spectacular mist and dramatic lighting in the morning. Breakfast is set here

08.30    Leaving for Ban Rak Thai, a little Yunnan-style village that surrounds a small lake. It is easy to walk here and you can enjoin shooting life and traditional and cultural architectures and landscapes.

11.00    Lunch and Photography Brief

13.00    Photographing and experiencing Poy Sang Long Scenes.

Poy Sang Long, rite of passage ceremony among the Shan peoples, in Myanmar and in neighbouring northern Thailand, undergone by boys at some point between seven and fourteen years of age. It consists of taking novice monastic vows and participating in monastery life for a period of time that can vary from a week to many months or more. Usually, a large group of boys are ordained as sāmaṇera (novitiate monk) at the same time.

17.00    Dinner and enjoy a fabulous local dance performance. Don’t forget to keep your camera with you all the time, so you don’t miss any great shot.

Day 4

05.30    Leaving for Su Tong Pea,

Su Tong Pae, a bamboo bridge across the rice paddies (the longest bamboo bridge in Thailand) built by the farmers around that area to enable monks to visit their villages so they can make a merit every morning. Enjoy life, street, and cultural scenes shooting.

08.00    Breakfast

09.30    leaving for Long neck village Ban Huay Sua Tao. a refugee camp for the Karenni (Red Karen) people.  The Karenni people are known for two subgroups, the Padaung and the Kayan people.  The Karenni are involved in a struggle (war) back in Myanmar (Burma) for independence. Enjoy life and set-up-scenes photo shoots

12.00    Lunch

13.30    Start photo shooting life and traditional way of life of Karen villagers and students.

19.00    Dinner

21.00    Back to the hotel

Day 5

05.00    Leaving for a hilltop vantage point at Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Mu.

Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Mu erected by the first governor of Mae Hong Son, this temple reflects the strong influence of the Burmese. The highlights of this attraction are the two lavishly decorated pagodas. Also, this hilltop temple affords an exceptional aerial view of the city and surrounding mountains and valleys.

10.00    Leaving for Chianf Mai Airport (Quick Lunch at Chiang Mai Airport)

13.00    Leaving for Bangkok Airport

16.00    Arriving at Rabbit Resort, Pattaya

17.30    Photo Review and Discussion Session

19.00    Dinner at Chefs Company, Food and Photo Gallery.

 

Day 6

06.00    Breakfast

07.00    Leaving for Thai Thani Art and Cultural Village, Pattaya.

07.30    Photographing Cultural procession in front of the main Thai style Sanctuary.

08.30    Photographing Scenes celebrating the water-splashing (Songkran) festival in traditional Lanna Style (Northern Thai Style).

09.00    Photographing scenes of different parts of Thailand with models in traditional costumes in natural light setting.

  • Models bathing in traditional bathrobes
  • Isaan (Northeastern Thai) shadow puppet
  • Other Thai lifestyle, etc.

12.00    Enjoy Lunch and watch cultural performances of 4 regions in Thailand. Photo Session Review.

14.00    Begin Photo Shooting

  • Traditional ancient kitchen scene
  • Model hair combing in bedroom
  • Hand-made Umbrella and umbrella painting

18.00    During twilight, photographing launching of floating lantern.

19.00    Enjoy Dinner and photograph traditional and cultural Thai style food kiosks

20.00    Overnight at Rabbit Resort Pattaya or similar

 

Day 7

05.00    Leaving for first light photographing at world renowned Pattaya Bay. Some climbing of stairs required.

07.00    Breakfast at Rabbit Resort Pattaya

09.00    Check out and leaving for Pattaya Four Regions Floating Market. This is an excellent re-creation of a floating market. Photograph cultural activities:

  • Long Neck Tribe lady weaving
  • Traditional hill tribe style kitchen, etc.

12.00    Lunch time

13.00    If time permits, photograph 4 sections of life style representing the North, Northeast, Central and South of Thailand.

You will find traditional eateries, food stalls, souvenir shops, floating boat vendors, etc.

16.00    End of this wonderful Photo Boot Camp. Have a safe journey home.
